Greetings from the conference secretariat of Advances in Pediatric Neuromuscular diseases, 2025 (APNMD 2025)!
It gives us great pleasure to invite you to this two-day course under the aegis of the pediatric neurology subsection of IAN and hosted by the pediatric Neurology Society of Kerala. This course will have a series of didactic lectures by eminent international faculty along with a dedicated workshop on basic and advanced techniques of ENMG studies in children. They will be supported by expert faculty from within the country.
The course is designed for pediatric neurologists, adult neurologists and pediatricians with an interest in the care of children with neuromuscular disorders. It is limited to a maximum of 100 participants, so early booking is highly recommended. Preference will be given to early career neurologists and residents. There will be opportunities for poster presentations. A quiz for post graduate residents will be an added attraction.

Dr. Baranello has been involved as principal investigator in numerous neuromuscular clinical trials, predominantly in the areas of Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. He has also gained significant independent grant support and funding to undertake research in neuromuscular diseases. His main area of research relates to translational research in neuromuscular conditions, development of outcome measures, natural history studies and long-term studies in patients receiving novel treatments.
Neurologist at Children's Hospital at Westmead Australia and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Sydney.Dr Menezes is lead of the Neuropathy Research Group (USyD) and Director of the Peripheral Neuropathy Management Clinic at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.Dr. Manoj Menezes is considered an international expert in childhood inherited neuropathy and Riboflavin transporter disorders.
Dr. Nishino started muscle disease research from 1994 at the National Centre for Neurology and Psychiatry. Later, he did his postdoctoral research for two years at Columbia University and solidified his yearning to focus on research. In 2001, he was appointed director of the current Department of Neuromuscular Research and since then, he has been directing his team on the research to elucidate the patho mechanism and develop the therapy for various muscle diseases, including GNE myopathy.
